The Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society is a registered non-profit charity established in 1978 by Calgary Firefighters - Local 255 to raise funds and awareness for burn victims in hospital burn units in Calgary and Southern Alberta. Firefighters, due to the hazards associated with their profession often face the tragic results of severe burns and the pain and suffering it inflicts upon its’ victims. The CFBTS oversees fundraising for the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Centre and ensures that funds are available for upgrades, as necessary, to the highly specialized equipment. It also provides the burn unit health care team with opportunities to attend continuing education programs to remain current in new treatment techniques. The money raised by the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society is accumulated through various fund-raisers that include our annual "Ladies Night Out", sales of the "Hotstuff" calendar, donations, celebrity baseball games, golf tournaments, barbeques and other special events.
