| The
CFBTS oversees fundraising for the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment
Centre and ensures that funds are available for upgrades, as necessary,
to the highly specialized equipment. It also provides the burn unit
health care team with opportunities to attend continuing education
programs to remain current in new treatment techniques.
Each
year Dr. Robert Lindsay MB, ChB – Director of the Calgary Firefighters
Burn Treatment Centre and Lucy Weir RN, BN – Patient Care Manager of
the Burn Unit join together and formulate a wish list of equipment that
they would like to see purchased for the Burn Unit. This list is
developed on a level of need basis and is influenced by the constant
change in technology and infection control standards.
