| For
the past 8 years, Rotary Club of Calgary South has supported the
Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society by hosting its’ annual
Lobsterfest Dinner. This event has raised $40,000 to date allowing for significant improvements in burn care at the Foothills Medical Centre.
Last year the Lobsterfest was held on the evening of September 26th, at the Al Ahzar Temple located at 5225 101 Street N.W. It was a great event with hundreds in attendance and was highlighted by the delicious fresh 1 1/4 pound Atlantic lobster dinner with all the trimmings. Door prizes were given away, CFD fire trucks made an appearance, a live auction took place and the Regent Academy Irish Dancers capped the evening with a special performance. The Rotary Club of Calgary South is very active in local and world community
service and celebrated its’ 50th anniversary in 2005. The
